Education and Training

We believe that education and training are crucial pillars in our mission to support and uplift the mental health of Black, Indigenous, and Queer Women of Color (BIQWOC) in Florida. Providing culturally-centered and affirming educational workshops, trainings, and seminars to community providers ensures the delivery of high-quality, culturally competent services tailored to the needs of BIQWOC individuals. Given the gap in available mental health providers in Florida, it's essential to support and equip those providers willing to engage in education and training to address the unique needs of this community. This not only boosts providers' confidence and readiness to deliver treatment but also fosters trust from recipients of care, leading to better outcomes for BIQWOC communities.

Education and training also empowers the community to collectively address systemic barriers, advocate for equitable policies, and create inclusive spaces honoring diverse identities and experiences. This fosters collaborative partnerships across sectors, promoting synergy, innovation, and collective impact in tackling systemic barriers to care.

The BIQWOCMHN partners and collaborates with BIQWOC-affirming mental health professionals and educators to develop and implement educational workshops, seminars, and training programs focused on mental health awareness, coping strategies, self-care practices, and culturally competent care for BIQWOC individuals and their communities. Your donations and funding support this critical initiative.
