Funding Quality Mental Health Care
Black, Indigenous and Queer Women of Color Mental Health Network, Inc, was created to address the disparate and increasing mental health needs of Black, Indigenous and Queer Women of Color in Central Florida. We aim to do this by decreasing barriers to mental health services, which includes 1) addressing financial barriers and 2) increasing access to quality mental health services by and for BIQWOC.
Providing Education and Training
BIQWOCMHN partners and collaborates with BIQWOC-affirming mental health professionals and educators to develop and implement educational workshops, seminars, and training programs focused on mental health awareness, coping strategies, self-care practices, and culturally competent care for BIQWOC individuals and their communities.
Support for Our Communities
BIQWOCMHN collaborates with local organizations, colleges, and universities to establish a comprehensive resource hub that centralizes information, tools, and support networks for BIQWOC individuals. This includes centering and vetting BIQWOC-affirming mental health resources, community resource, and virtual support spaces in Central Florida that foster and promote BIQWOC holistic healing and empowerment.
“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.”
